Project 1

Spring Wildflower Garden

We added topsoil to a corner of this yard to alleviate the heavy clay. After, we planted a bunch of spring ephemerals that brighten up the space before other plants are blooming. We were also able to sustainably source some rare, threatened, and endangered plants.

Project 2

Commercial Native Landscaping Project

An organization wanted to replace dead sod and create a low maintenance, neater garden at their headquarters that supports a variety of wildlife.

Project 3

Backyard Landscape Restoration

The client had recently put in a screen porch in their backyard. However the backyard had been torn up due to the heavy machinery and many overgrown vines around the yard. We cleaned up the entire yard, created gardens with low maintenance native plants around the property line and house, and put sod in the middle for recreation and relaxation. We also created a hardscape paver walkway for easy access from the driveway to backyard.

Project 4

High Wildlife Value Pollinator Garden in North Potomac

Invasive ornamental grasses were becoming a nuisance and were removed. Client wanted to add some color and variety of texture while also allowing a space for the local wildlife. Over 100 species of wildlife have been documented visiting the garden, including many birds, butterflies, bees, caterpillars, and other insects.

Native plants were added to an established garden to fill in the area.

Project 6

Vibrant Garden Highlighting Native Plants

Homeowner is really passionate about native plants and was looking to create a garden that would be appealing not only to them but to the local wildlife. This area can now support an abundance of beneficial creatures and has a variety of bloom colors, times, and textures. The river rock swale is a subtle feature to help redirect rainwater from their downspouts

Project 7

Roadside Pollinator Garden and Native Plant Habitat

Overgrown grass and weeds were replaced with a diverse pollinator garden to provide curb appeal and be low maintenance.

Project 8

Conservation Landscaping to Help Manage Stormwater Runoff

Clients had overgrown bamboo and stormwater management problems. We cleaned up the space, installed a native rain garden, and added river rock, all of which will help create a beautiful backyard that will effectively reroute and absorb excess rainwater.

Project 9

Colorful Native Garden along New Fence in North Potomac

Old Cypress trees were removed and in its place a native garden was installed. This garden offers lots of benefits for the environment and an abundance of color throughout the year for the homeowner. A variety of colors are seen throughout the growing season.

Project 10

Removing Liriope to Revitalize this Backyard

The client was unhappy with the large patches of liriope - it was spreading in unwanted areas and didn't offer much in the way of beauty. We removed this non-native groundcover and replaced it with a variety of colorful flowering perennials, most of them native. We also established a stone walkway set in river rock for safe and easy access down the sloped side yard.

Project 11

Front Yard Landscaping for Future Home Sale

A front yard that had overgrown plants and invasive weeds was cleaned up for the client, who was selling their home soon. A drought tolerant native landscape was created to have a low maintenance and beautiful garden in the front yard and increase property value.

Project 12

Complete Landscape Renovation

A large pool was removed and filled in by another contractor, allowing us to come in and create a backyard oasis for the client. Invasive plants were removed and pollinator gardens were established for a colorful scene throughout the growing season. In addition, sod and stepping stones were placed to allow for recreation.

Project 13

Low Maintenance Garden that Supports Wildlife

New gardens with native plants were created in the front and backyards. Priorities were for the space to be low maintenance while also supporting a variety of wildlife. These native plants will help pollinators, birds, and other important animal species.

Project 16

Revitalizing Front Garden With Low Maintenance Plants

Several plant species dominated and took over the existing garden space. These aggressive plants outcompeted others to create a space with an overly wild appearance. We cleared out all of the vegetation and planted low maintenance native plants that are not aggressive.

Project 17

Entire Backyard Conservation Garden Installation

This client's backyard had become completely overrun with weeds and invasive vines, with many weeds being over 6ft tall. All unwanted vegetation was cleaned up and hauled offsite, and over 300 native plants were planted to create a conservation landscape. Stormwater runoff would move towards the house so this was addressed with the plants and a layer of river rock.

Project 18

Native Plant Additions to Existing Garden

A homeowner was looking to fill in some established garden beds with low maintenance and care free native plants.

Project 19

Raised Garden Bed and Deer Fence
